Oklahoma Ag in the classroom is a program with a goal to help familiarize Oklahoma school children, both urban and rural, with the food and fiber industry. This program also has an annual Ag Day contest open for student Pre-K- 8th grade students. This year our students in our new after school program submitted individual entries in the coloring contest, poster contest, and storyboard contest. Also as a group our K-2 grade class entered a class bulletin board contest, and the whole group entered in the video contest. Our students did lesson plans learning Ag in the classroom, took field trips learning about ag in our community, and prepared participation in these contests for about a month. We are excited to announce that Mrs. Davidson's Class Bulletin Board was a top finalist winner in the statewide contest. Also the video that Mrs. Crittenden prepared of the whole groups activies won 2nd place in the statewide contest.  On February 12 Audrey Harmon from the Ag in the Classroom program will be at Peavine for a assembly to award these students with certificates and a pizza party. Also Mrs. Davidson and Mrs. Crittenden have been invited to Ag Day March 26 at the state capitol for Peavine to be recognized by our state legislators. You can watch the winning video above. We hope you enjoy.
